This Charlotte Perriand inspired coffee table in white oak is a response to her iconic ‘Forme Libre’ dining table. We created a free form shape for the top with gentle curves and then hand cut the back cut edge detail. The base of the table picks up the same elements as the ‘Forme Libre’ with two post legs coupled with the single rounded pillar on the opposing side. We draw attention to the joints in the table top with splines seen in the edges. The table seen in the pictures above is in a slightly lightened white oak but the table can be made in a variety of domestic hardwoods and finishes. We use Rubio Monocoat finishes for the lightening of the oak but if a natural oil and wax finish is preferred please let us know.
