Eros Collection Coffee Table In Freccia Marble By Angelo Mangiarotti, 1970s

Chairish

$21,503

A sculptural "Freccia" marble coffee table from the Eros collection, designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and made by Skipper. This model exemplifies  the designer’s mastery of material and structural clarity. Crafted entirely from richly veined marble, the table is composed of a thick, asymmetrical top formed from interlocking geometric planes, resting on solid cylindrical supports. The design is notable for its precise, almost architectural construction, where the elements appear to slot together through carefully calculated joints rather than visible fixings. This creates a sense of balance and tension, with the weight of the stone countered by the elegance of its form. The natural variation in the marble—featuring soft greys, warm beige tones, and expressive veining—adds depth and individuality to the piece. This version is much more interesting, and indeed rarer, than the more common Freccia tables made in white or black marble. The stone would have been more expensive at the time of manufacture too. Both functional and sculptural, the table reflects Mangiarotti’s enduring interest in combining engineering logic with refined, minimalist design. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
