An exceptionally elegant coffee table by Maison Charles, distinguished by four sculptural bronze Flying Horses of Gansu in the spirit of Hollywood Regency. Inspired by the celebrated Chinese bronze from the 2nd century CE, each horse is depicted in perfect balance, resting atop a flying swallow – an enduring symbol of movement, harmony, and mastery of form. The horses’ finely modeled heads support the substantial glass tabletop, while their tails carry a secondary glass surface below. Square brass crossbars connect the composition, lending both structure and visual rhythm. The table stands on square, black-lacquered feet with brass surfaces, giving the piece a grounded and composed appearance. A rare and distinctive table that brings together historical reference and a carefully balanced form, offering a strong presence without excess.
