Fossil n.1 by the whole elements 2017 unique piece dimensions: h 42 x w 97 x d 54 cm materials: hand carved, oak fossils are objects that require involvement. Their user cannot remain indifferent but must inspect, touch and play with them. The collection is inspired by fossil forms and consists of a hand-carved coffee table and a set of wall shelves with ceramic tableware, as well as a cabinet and a hand-woven kilim rug. The openings in the tabletop are designed to accommodate the tableware. The shapes of the individual pieces of crockery match specific openings. Launched by anna bera in 2014, the whole elements is a design studio and a wood workshop based in warsaw. Dedicated to creating furniture pieces, often crafted by hand from wood, the brand is notable for its bridging of art and design, with inspiration coming from bera's observations of the relationship between humans and nature — from a biological, spiritual and cultural perspective. With particular focus on texture and sensory richness, the whole elements production process goes hand in hand with the brand's workshop where all of bera's projects are implemented.
