Unique 1960s hand sculpted chess table and coffee table is sculptural and yet functional, made out of large ceramic slabs. The table exudes a material richness and graphic simplicity. The black sections are not glazed and reveal the bare black ceramic, the white sections have a eggshell glaze, the surrounding of the board and base have a rich glaze in aquamarine green and graphite tones. The table top sits loose on a rectangular base in wood with ceramic tiles mounted on the outside.
