Lucite & Glass Coffee Table By Charles Hollis Jones, Usa 1970's

Vintage coffee table designed and manufactured in the United States by Charles Hollis Jones.The table is made in two inch solid Lucite and finished with a glass top.The table is a variation of the L'AMI design which it was made entirely out of Lucite.The change came about because some clients wanted to have a table that was a bit lighter in weight to move around if needed and the first version being 2 inches solid Lucite throughout proved to be to heavy at times, Charles's answer was to keep the same thickness for the legs, reduce the frame thickness and make a cutout to accommodate a glass top.The result was a coffee table that was more airy and yet just as imposing as the first version.This table was manufactured in the mid 1970's and acquired from the original owner here in Los Angeles.Measurements: 40.25 inches square x 17 inches high.
