A beautiful example of Marcel Breuer's Laccio table, one of the enduring icons of Bauhaus design. Originally conceived by Breuer in the mid-1920s alongside his celebrated tubular steel seating, the Laccio distills the modernist ideal to its essence: a continuous bent tubular steel frame supporting a floating rectangular top, with no ornament and no wasted gesture. The result is a table that has looked contemporary for a century. This example dates to the 1980s and retains the clean geometry and fine proportions that make the design so versatile — light enough visually to sit in front of a sofa without crowding the room, graphic enough to hold its own as a sculptural element. In good vintage condition, with only very minor pitting to the chrome base and a couple of small scratches to the top, consistent with age and gentle use. The table presents very well overall and is ready to place in a discerning interior.
