Rectangular coffee table by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina. The structure is entirely made of solid walnut, with generously rectangular uprights whose outer profile is rounded at the edges—a detail that softens the frame without introducing any decorative elements that are foreign to the construction logic. The front and rear crosspieces are slightly raised above the glass surface, forming a continuous edge that holds the smoked gray glass panel in place through weight and geometry without any mechanical fastenings. The underside of the crosspieces and the inner faces of the uprights are chamfered, creating a continuous shadow line along the perimeter of the top, visually separating the glass and wood. The walnut retains its original unfinished surface finish; the grain is uniform and warm across the flat surfaces of the legs and crosspieces. The glass is original, intact, and free of scratches.
