The design captures the sculptural, essential quality of Perriand’s alpine work, with a thick circular top set on four robust cylindrical legs. This example features the sought-after rim variant, where a bullnose gallery edge incorporates an inner recessed channel, adding both visual rhythm and subtle functionality. Perriand, a pivotal figure in 20th-century design, challenged conventions with her innovative approach, seamlessly blending industrial influences, Japanese aesthetics, and a deep connection to nature. Her work reflects a harmonious fusion of Bauhaus principles and organic craftsmanship, evident in this table’s minimalist structure and warm, natural patina.
