Its pedestal base and 26" height pair nicely with sofas and lounge chairs.In his purist approach to architecture and design, Eero Saarinen sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution. One of the most exemplary examples of which is the one-legged design of his Pedestal Collection. These effortlessly majestic pieces came from his desire to resolve the "ugly, confusing, unrestful world" underneath tables and chairs. The Pedestal Table, and accompanying Tulip Chair, have since become symbols of mid-century modern design and mainstays of the Knoll design legacy.
