The pi collection results from several sculptural essays with spherical volumes as their starting point, exploring possible variations from this initial form. These exercises were initially developed manually in clay and digitally in 3D software. Pedro created various modeling methods, such as aluminum casting, fiberglass, digital machining of wood, solid marble blocks, and basalt (volcano lava). As a final result, Pedro created coffee tables, side tables, and armchairs, whose organic, voluminous, and harmonic shapes refer to the biological forms of the human body and its folds. “p,” refers to the greek letter which illustrates the numerical proportion depicted by the relationship between the perimeter of a circle and its diameter, making an obvious allusion to the repetition of spherical corners.
