Restored Attributed Florence Knoll X base dining or conference in olive ash burl, produced in the United States in the 1960s. Wild grain patterns stand in contrast to the simplicity of the base, making for a statement piece that isn’t too over the top. Similar to Saarinen’s iconic tulip table, the X-shaped pedestal maximizes leg room while reducing visual clutter. The elliptical shape allows for those gathered at the table to converse face to face with everyone present. With no legs at the corners impeding chair placement, the table accommodates up to 8 guests comfortably. The tabletop has been fully refinished. The base is sturdy and shows light vintage wear. Overall in excellent condition. This table is unlabeled. We have had several of them, both marked and unmarked, and are familiar enough with the design to be confident of its authenticity.
