An elaborately-carved French wall console with marble top from the 18th century. This antique table from France, which retains its original serpentine-shaped marble top (with flattened backside), has a wood frame with an exquisite rocaille aesthetic motif carved throughout the shapely body, which is meant to attach to the wall and be supported by two front legs. The legs are braced with a cross-stretcher bar, which is adorned at center with exaggerated shell and foliate scrollwork. Note that the marble has had prior repairs and that there are small cut-outs along the back rear corners (as can be further viewed in the additional images). This 18th century period Rococo French console, with marble top and rocaille carvings, will make an elegant focal point; perhaps in an entry foyer or living room.
