An Italian console table, or desk, with single board top and trestle legs from the 18th century. This antique chestnut wood farm table from Italy features a single wood board plank top, attached to the cleanly designed apron with fabulous old thick nails. The trestle base is made of lyre shaped legs, connected to each other through an H-shaped cross stretcher, just above the feet, carved along its bottom side with a series of arches. Please note that there is some slight warping and cracking to the top, but the board is still in good condition, but with added character and patina typical of its age. This 18th century Italian table, with its rich patina, would function exquisitely as a desk, a console table, or perhaps as a server in a kitchen.
