An impressive and most handsome pair of Italian early 18th century Louis XIV Period Walnut and Olivewood consoles. Each freestanding console is raised by four topie shaped feet below Walnut blocks detailed with Olivewood fillet inlays, and joined by a cabriole stretcher with matching two tone inlays. Rising from the bottom blocks are square tapered legs featuring outline fillets and two tone Olivewood inlays, ending in four inlaid blocks flanking the central drawer and side aprons. The central drawer displays three inlaid panels of Walnut and two tones of Olivewood. Above is the thick top carved to follow the shape of the console and featuring two book matched pieces of Walnut trimmed with Olivewood inlays.
