This antique Chinese altar table is circa the early 19th century. Traditional Chinese "Auspicious" patterns decorate the front of the table. The side panels of the table intricately carved with a "Pair of Phoenix" design. The ornate carvings are double-sided and can be viewed from both sides. The wood plank used for the surface of this table is a single plank of wood and more than two inches thick. The table is crafted with wooden pegs and a tenon structure; which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Made with the core of elmwood, the table is very heavy and solid. Original patina and wear. Size: W92" x D16" x H36" (Ref.#5082)
