This a wonderful antique English George I style gesso & giltwood decorative marble top console side table, England, Probably 1st half 19th Century. Features an inset white marble slab with a molded edge above a frieze of a Greek key style molding with a scalloped and scrolled skirt with shell motif and standing on heavily accented cabriole legs with carved knee medallions, swags and scrolls and standing on a scroll padded foot. table is in excellent condition for its age with no repairs with the exception of the marble support on underside. . Some minor loss of gold leaf with remnants of red clay under base passing through. No makers marks found. Removed from the estate of a wealthy resident of Westchester County NY. In Westchester NY since 1940s and previously in an estate in Greece by the previous owners parents and shipped here at time of relocation.
