A bold Irish George II marble-topped red walnut side table, the rectangular Carrara marble top above a cavetto frieze with half-round cross grain mouldings, raised on powerful cabriole legs with flared ankles terminating on exceptional oversized ball and hairy claw feet with fetlocks, of a very unusual design. Circa 1740. In good original condition, and retaining a gentle faded appearance culminating in a wonderful dry surface and colour. One subtle historic estate made iron support bracket to rear leg which does not detract from the table. 46.5” wide 33” high 23.5” deep
