Neoclassical Revival Portrait Medallion Console Table Circa 1925 Maker Unknown Probably U.S. Wrought iron base with profile portrait medallions, pierced apron pattern, and contemporary black-and-white marble Dimensions: Height 31 Width 30 Depth 18 in. Provenance: Purchased at cityFoundry, Brooklyn, NY Condition: Table base is in good period condition with wear, distress, losses, color changes, and rust to the metal (some surface treatments can be observed). Its overall presentation is strong. Its four decorative portrait medallions and the complete metal frame are finished on the exterior and interior. The table has been modified with a contemporary custom cut-to-fit marble top that is in excellent condition. Its underside is not polished. Note: The marble is not original to the table. The table has a small footprint and a significant height with decorative stretchers. Despite its historic style, the table is versatile and has been used has a console table, a pedestal for contemporary art and design objects, and as an all around useful table.
