This is an excellent very early Southern pine dough box on stand with its original lid. The lid and angle of the box were used for kneading the dough. The box itself was crucial for allowing the dough to rise. The hand cut dovetail joints and peg construction have helped to authenticate its age and origin. Today, it would be a wonderful side or console table!
