Beautiful Empire-style mahogany half-moon console table with six square, tapered legs mounted on gilt brass feet. This highly versatile piece offers three positions: 1) Console position (half-moon), ideal against a wall or in an entryway for maximum space saving. 2) Round table position: comfortably seats four people (the console tabletop unfolds easily thanks to gilt brass hinges). 3) Large dining table position: accommodates up to eight guests thanks to its extension mechanism. Intermediate legs, fixed to wooden runners, extend to support the opening and ensure stability. The table features a sliding opening mechanism and two semicircular tabletops that unfold like a book to form a 110 cm diameter round tabletop. The double tabletops are veneered in mahogany with a luminous reddish hue. The legs extend further to accommodate two leaves, creating a dining table 188 cm long. The leaves have been remade in stained solid wood; their tone and appearance are more matte, differing from the original glossy varnish of the tabletops. The table is in very good overall condition, sound, stable, and sturdy. The wooden slides move smoothly, making opening and closing very easy. Console dimensions: 110 cm wide, 75 cm high, 56 cm deep. Height under the apron: 61 cm. Diameter: 110 cm for the round table. Maximum table length: 188 cm.
