An elegant and most decorative French mid 18th century Louis XVI Period patinated wood and Gris St. Anne marble console. This stunning freestanding patinated grey console is raised by four circular fluted legs supported on bun feet. The four legs are joined by an X shaped stretcher displaying beaded bands throughout, with a foliate reserve at the center set within a Rais de Coeur border. The apron above has three recessed carved panels in the front and one on each side decorated by two berried laurel branches tied together by ribbons. Each recessed panel is flanked by wonderful and richly detailed oval foliate rosettes. Above is the original Gris St. Anne marble top with a bull nose edge. Wonderful proportions and all original patinated finish throughout.
