An impressive and most decorative Italian 19th century Empire st. Cherrywood, Ormolu, Mirror and marble console. This stunning freestanding console is raised on four block feet supporting a Cherrywood lower display tier with inward curved edges, and backed with the original mirror plate. The mirror plate is framed by a richly chased Ormolu Rai-de-Coeur border and flanked by fluted Cherrywood panels. The front corner supports display a pair of fire gilded swans on a single claw foot raised by a square block supporting the console's front apron. The Nero Portoro marble top displays cut corners and inlaid on three sides with a Giallo Sienna marble Greek Key border, partially inset into a Cherrywood frame.
