Simple yet refined, this lacquered Chinese console table is an elegant addition to an entry, hallway or alcove. The original table dates to the mid-19th century, crafted of elmwood (yumu) with traditional joinery and a soft, black lacquer finish. The narrow tabletop is framed on all sides by a graceful, s-curve apron that flows seamlessly into the slender corner legs. The legs end in hoof feet with carved accents that borrow the cusped shape of traditional long-handled broadswords.
