Ash and steam bent maple combine with sweeps and curves in this contemporary console table. Each movement is balanced against the next until the composition is balanced. The wall is brought into consideration by the curve that pushes in at the back edge of the table. The negative shape created by this movement is framed by the wall and the "push" ripples throughout the rest of the piece. A long slender frameless mirror could occupy that space. The legs are long and slender giving the table its height. Even the contact points with the ground reward the viewer for taking the time to look as they delicately pick the table up as if on tiptoes.
