The Sine Wave console by Michael Dreeben for Wooda is a bespoke-quality solid walnut cabinet. The sine waves that ornament the door panels function most immediately as a decorative element. But they also emit the LED light from within the cabinet through mica panels. Sine waves are suggestive of language—a mode of representing or quantifying some natural phenomenon.About the designer: Michael Dreeben received an MFA in sculpture from the University of Chicago and he subsequently studied vernacular woodworking and traditional crafts practices on a Fulbright Fellowship in Rajasthan, India. His design work is characterized by a sculptural sensibilityand an intimate relationship with materials, process, vernacular craft, as well as contemporary currents in design and technology.
