Pair of Smith Neapolitan console in mahogany feather with maple inlay grafts. The Carrara white marble top is placed on an inlaid underground band with racemi motifs and is in turn rising from four feet to balustrade typical of the period of belonging. In correspondence with the four columns there are the bearing feet dominated by the same inlay reported in the underground band. George Smith: owner of a large cabinetmaking laboratory in London and active between 1804 and 1828, famous for having released an engravings album entitled "A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture" in 1808, some scholars advanced the hypothesis that The Neapolitan "Smith" furniture were inspired by George Smith's drawings.
