1960s Attributed Kroehler American Leisure Sofa, Style Of Adrian Pearsall Mid Century Modern Gondola Couch Vintage Mad Men Era

Chairish

$3,750

A statement sofa from Kroehler’s American Leisure collection — a line frequently mistaken for Adrian Pearsall’s work thanks to its sculptural walnut sled base, dramatically canted arms, and deep tufted seat and back cushions. While often misattributed, American Leisure was Kroehler’s own in-house design, produced to compete directly with Pearsall-style studio pieces in the 1960s. This 104” sofa is a striking anchor for any mid-century or eclectic-modern living room, with a low-slung profile, exposed walnut arm caps, and the architectural floating sled base that defines the line. Dimensions: • Length: 104” • Depth: 32” • Back height: 27” • Seat height: 18” • Arm height: 21” Condition: Professionally reupholstered in 2015 in a warm camel/tan textured weave. Frame and sculptural walnut base are original and structurally sound. Materials: Solid walnut frame and base, reupholstered fabric (2015) Provenance note: No original Kroehler manufacturer’s tag found; a partial upholsterer’s tag dated 6/15/2015 confirms the reupholstery date. Attribution based on documented Kroehler American Leisure catalog imagery.
