A classic piece of british design, this early da sofa designed by ernest race has a welded steel frame with coil sprung seats and beech legs. Recently reupholstered in a high quality bouclé wool fabric in cream. Light and anatomical design, very comfortable. The da range was launched in 1946, it was ernest race's interpretation of a wingback chair and sofa. This was upholstered furniture for the modern space conscious home. Originally conceived in collaboration with heal's of london the da series was a radical departure from traditional bulky armchairs of the past. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
