Plush, voluptuous and sublimely crafted, the 1962 Croissant Sofa, a coveted collector's item, has been reintroduced for a new generation. Reflecting the exuberant optimism of the 1960s, the Croissant was Danish designer Illum Wikkelsø's playful take on the Chesterfield club sofa, using the French pastry as his inspiration. This new version by Gubi has been subtly refined to suit today's bodies. The complex curves of the sofa's embracing form are achieved through meticulous hand stitching and it sits on a solid walnut base and legs.
