The world of saddlery, steeped in artisanal luxury and masterful craftsmanship, is the inspiration behind Jean-Marie Massaud’s GranTorino, a modular sofa system that, in its most original and refined version, pairs saddle-leather with Pelle Frau® or fabric.‎ The saddle-leather, cut and shaped by hand, closely follows and enhances the lines and geometries of the seat.‎ The workmanship of the high, slender armrest and the low one—also available in a storage version that hides an elegant natural oak tray—is equally complex and precise.‎ In 2025, this version is enriched by a new variant with a storage box in Moka- or Wenge-stained ash, featuring an upholstered outer shell: a refined alternative to the classic leather armrest, further expanding compositional and material options.‎GranTorino is a sofa that combines compact, well-balanced volumes to minimize overall bulk with extremely welcoming seating.‎ The frame is in tubular metal with interwoven elastic belts.‎ Backrests and armrests are made of birch plywood panels.‎ The seat padding is now available with inner layers of polyurethane foam and Soft and Firm wadding, replacing the previous goose-down version, which is still available as an option for the back cushions only.‎ This new composition ensures balanced comfort: the Soft part provides the softness and enveloping feel typical of down, while the firmer part guarantees calibrated support and better aesthetic recovery of form.‎The feet are made of aluminium painted in a titanium finish.‎The GranTorino sofa can be fully upholstered in Pelle Frau® or in versions that combine multiple materials.‎ Among these, the new Pelle Frau® Motif Knits enhances the backrest and high armrests with a printed woven effect featuring a three-dimensional tactile appearance, available in four refined tones: Deep Lavender, Sesame, Paprika, and Grey Salt.‎
