A fantastic tubular sofa with original cushions. This sofa is most likely custom made in the late 1930s or early 1940s. It has a Grey tubular frame with wooden balls applied in the the end of the pipes. It gives those design a playful appearance. The cushions dark Grey and Cream with Black stripes are more art deco / pragmatic. The planks of the seating and the backrest have a softened round rim wich gives it a more rustic aprouch. There are three designers that come to mind. Knowing: Pierre Guariche, Jean Prouve. Looking at furniture made by these designers there is one standing out: Pierre Guariche. He has made comparable designs of chairs with the same structure and materials. Up till now we have never seen a second sofa like this on the internet or in documentation. Therefore we still can say it is unique. It is most likely made as a waiting room or hallway sofa because the seating height is a little higher then "normal" sofa's. It is an eyecatcher and an asset to the high class furnishing.
