Scandinavian Three-Seater Sofa In Oak, 1950s

Chairish

$2,838

Oak sofa with original green melange wool upholstery. Scandinavian production, 1950s/1960s. A Scandinavian three-seater sofa produced in the 1950s/1960s, featuring a teak frame with light and balanced proportions. The frame's design reflects the essential language of Nordic modernism, with tapered legs, thin armrests, and a visually airy construction defined by clean, well-calibrated lines. The backrest is composed of three separate, slightly inclined elements, a solution that defines the sofa's volume while maintaining a regular and well-paced composition even when viewed from behind. The solid teak armrests feature a soft profile that gradually tapers toward the ends, a typical detail of Scandinavian production of the period. The original green melange fabric upholstery retains a very evident texture that creates an interesting contrast with the smooth, warm surfaces of the teak. The continuous seat and compact padding contribute to the linear and restrained look of the whole, accentuating the balance between structural lightness and volumetric presence. Good condition. May show signs of aging and minor traces of use consistent with its age. Please carefully examine the photographs.
