Era Stool

Design Within Reach

Defined by its bentwood construction and simple form, the Era Stool (1859) has been in continuous production for over 150 years. By making the legs from a single piece of curved wood, designer Michael Thonet - who perfected the bentwood process for chair-making - eliminated the need for expensive joinery. The resulting stool is graceful, lightweight, and surprisingly strong, proven in cafes and restaurants all over the globe. Made in the Czech Republic.
