A central daybed from the consulate-directoire period, crafted from molded and carved walnut, circa 19th century (circa 1800). The headboard and footboard are boat-shaped. The decoration is abundant and intricately carved. The crossbars are finely worked (one has a small, old restoration). The legs are stylized.
