Daybed Sofa In Caramel Leather Upholste By Tito Agnoli, Cinova, 1960s

Chairish

$3,900

Daybed sofa designed by Tito Agnoli for Cinova, manufactured in 1968. It functions both as a sofa and a daybed through a folding mechanism integrated into the seat structure. Upholstered in caramel leather, the piece presents a warm tone that complements its strong geometric lines. The proportions and construction reflect the functional and modular character typical of late 1960s Italian design. Tito Agnoli (1931–2012) was an Italian architect and designer associated with several leading manufacturers, including Cinova, Arflex, and Poltrona Frau. His work is known for its rational forms, technical precision, and emphasis on usability. During the 1960s, Italian design was exploring modular seating and convertible furniture solutions, and the Odyssey model is a clear example of this approach—combining practicality with a restrained modern aesthetic. The sofa was reupholstered in leather by its first owner, and the hinge system was replaced to ensure proper functionality of the daybed mechanism. It remains in good overall condition, with visible marks of use consistent with age. Structurally sound and fully functional, it is a well-preserved example of Agnoli’s early work for Cinova.
