The tubular steel base creates a continuous arc that supports the leather cushions made of dual-density foam for comfort and support. The leather upholstery is precision crafted to fit snugly and comfortably inside the tubular steel frame. The quilted cushions feature cross-angled stitching that radiates out and then aligns with the uprights of the tubular steel frame, a gesture that emphasises the overall geometry of the design, leading back to the importance of linearity and architectural design inherent in BassamFellows' work.The Geometric daybed has a tubular steel frame covered in nanoceramics and a carved solid wood seat with slats that are also made of solid wood. The double-density foam cushions feature a knife-edge detail with double stitching. Materials: steel with satin nickel, bronze, satin brass or gunmetal finishes with nanoceramic coating. In the same way that designers of these two influential schools tested the liberating material properties of bentwood and tubular steel, Bassam refined a set of constraints to spirit cold-rolled tubular steel into forms that hold the horizontal planes of a seat deck or tabletop, achieving the poetic appearance of extreme lightness and suspension.
