New Handcrafted Daybed in Walnut Wood and Mallorcan Textile by Nico GuevaraThis daybed is the result of a collaboration between Mallorcan textile manufacturer Teixits Riera and the Nico Guevara studio. Both based in Mallorca, they focus on combining tradition and craftsmanship to create a product with a distinctly Mediterranean essence.From the outset, the goal was to develop a piece of furniture that reflects the rural austerity of the island, using natural materials such as wood, fabric, and leather. The simplicity of the structure is designed to honor the artisanal quality of the fabric. A leather belt links the walnut frame to the upholstery, joining the elements and adding character to the piece. The pillow is secured by this belt, creating a subtle balance between the different components.BIO - Nico GuevaraNico Guevara studied industrial design at the Massana School in Barcelona, where he also began his career. He spent several years as part of the design team at the Lottusse footwear brand before working as a freelance product designer, splitting his time between Palma and Barcelona. He has also complemented his design work with teaching.
