A British Colonial daybed (or coffee table) from the early 20th century. This antique British Colonial daybed from Kerala, India has a bed/top constructed of wooden boards set within a rectangular frame, and presented upon four beautifully robust, turned legs. The legs retain their old painted finish in red, yellow/gold, and green colors. This bed is a rich warm tropical hardwood, similar to teak in strength and durability. Please note that there is a slight bow to the top (see pictures for additional detail). This early 20th century British Colonial single daybed, topped with a cushion and a few decorative pillows, would be a beautiful and inviting place to relax on a covered porch. Or use it as a larger sized coffee table; perfect for a study or den!
