1 Of 30 Cenedese Rectangular Black & Clear Murano Glass Bowl, Dish Or Ashtray

1st Dibs

$755

Rare opportunity to purchase one of a large quantity of Antonio da Ros for Cenedese (new old stock) thick and heavy vintage Mid-Century modern Italian Murano small rectangular glass bowls, dishes or ashtrays made circa 1965-1975. Large and heavy piece of glass features a simplistic, elegant form and design in thick clear glass with a black patch to create a stunning centrepiece which captures the light beautifully and is a wonderful midcentury vase. Interestingly, there is no such thing as truly black glass, rather it is a very dark Amethyst (purple) and it is difficult to produce a black looking glass - however, here, Cenedese has managed to do this. Rare piece of glass in collector’s condition as this is actually new old stock which. was recovered from the vaults at Cenedese on the Venetian island of Murano. Understated and elegant piece. Each item is handmade and unique with each black spot or patch being slightly different - depending on the quantity you would like - we can hand match them to be as similar as you would like or to be as different as you would like. Just let us know your preference (best before purchasing) and we will work with you to meet your needs. We have over 50 of these in our warehouse - all new old stock - which were found in the vaults at Cenedese. These would be particularly interesting for a high-end designer hotel or restaurant with vintage designer Murano glass in as new condition. The advertised shipping price is based on a single item - should you wish to purchase multiple items, please ask for a shipping quote based on your desired number of bowls and we will provide that within 24 hours.
