Drap d hexagonal decorative bowl in white carrara marble by bufalini marmi dimensions: d 32 x w 32 x h 11 cm. Materials: white carrara marble. When waterjet cutting thick marble slabs, it tends to lose precision in the final section, producing surface ripples. This characteristic, usually considered a defect, is here highlighted and brought to the fore, transforming into a new aesthetic quality that ideally recalls the effect of draping fabric. We decided to exploit this cutting feature/characteristic/defect to obtain thin, lightweight rings of varying heights, characterized by rippled surfaces on the sides and edges. The rings are then fitted with a marble base to create various types of containers. The concentric cutting of the rings (circular, ellipsoidal, hexagonal, etc.) optimizes the volume of processed marble, allowing each block of marble to yield 5 or 6 vases, while also significantly minimizing the amount of waste.
