Large Porcelain Wall Dish From Meissen

Chairish

$714

This sumptuous fine porcelain dish from the Meissen factory, dating from the second half of the 19th century, features a refined Kakiemon decoration, inspired by 17th-century Japanese porcelain. At the center of the composition, a flying crane holding a branch converses with a winged red dragon, a fantastical figure evoking the oriental imagination. The whole is enriched with foliage, stylized flowers, and polychrome insects. The whole is presented in a vibrant palette of vermillion red, cobalt blue, celadon green, and golden yellow, typical of European interpretations of the Kakiemon style. The dish bears the famous Meissen crossed swords mark on the back, in underglaze blue, indicating a first-class quality. Numbered and equipped with its original hanging system, it can be displayed on a wall or integrated into a collector's display case. Dimensions: Diameter: 30 cm (11.81 inches) Condition: Excellent condition. No chips or cracks. The enamel and decoration are very fresh. Slight signs of wear on the reverse. Origin: Royal Manufactory of Meissen – Germany Period: circa 1880 This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
