Organic, biomorphic triangular bowl by Woodstock Vermont ceramic artist, Nancy Wickham. Very rare. Signed on the bottom. Approximate dimension 6 1/8" x 5 1/2". Late 1940s. Handcrafted featuring a neutral glaze with sienna and brown highlights. Nancy Wickham Boyd studied at Alfred University from 1943 to 1945. Like quite a few well-known NYC potters Nancy got her start working for a few years at Design-Technics under Lee Rosen and struck out on her own around 1949 in Woodstock Vermont. Condition on the bowl is fantastic and displays wonderfully.
