While leading the interiors group at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Charles Pfister began designing for Knoll with a credo of “restrained elegance.” In mouth-blown Murano glass, the Pfister Decorative Bowl (1972) reflects that statement. Its basin resembles water forming a drop within an airy volume, at once fluid and solid. Now reissued by Knoll in a limited production of 150, the bowl is available in three sizes – large, low, and small – 50 of each. It’s a striking vessel for displaying flowers and small decor, but stands on its own in sculpted, light-catching clearness.
