Solid Mango Wood Bowl With Burnt & Natural Finish

A hand-crafted mango wood bowl. The bowl was cut from a much larger slab of mango wood and features a curved and ribbed texture on its sides. The bowl is contrasted by an exterior that features a natural finish and a basin that features a burnt finish. To achieve the rich black colour found in the bowls basin the bowl was burnt three times and finished with a clear coat. The exterior was then sanded down to expose a wonderful mix of wood textures and achieve a smooth finish. This bowl is a wonderfully sculptural object.
