Designed with practicality in mind, the rounded bottom allowed this antique pottery vessel to rest on a half-buried support inside a Nupe house, often stacked among others of its kind. Evidence of its history is visible in the subtle wear around the inside of the top rim, indicating its frequent use and placement. Please note that the stand shown in the picture is not included.
