The Front of the Jug is Beautifully Hand Decorated with a Large Size and Exceptionally Nice Shade of Blue Stylized Flower Sprig Design. It is Embossed with a "2" Denoting its Two Gallon Storage Capacity. It is Also Embossed with the Well Documented Makers Name - NEW YORK STONEWARE COMPANY in FORT EDWARD. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made For Everyday - Utilitarian Use. Jugs were Commonly Used to Store Liquids such as Ciders, Vinegar, Ales, Liquors & Spirits, Spring Water, Oils, Molasses, Etc. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition - Displays Beautifully. It has 1 Small Chip a the Spout - No Cracks - No Repairs. There is a Darker Patch on the Left Side - Possibly Age and Use or Kiln Firing Related.
