Set Of 3, Rare Antique Pennsylvania Primitive Canisters | Hand Punched Tinware

Chairish

$1,600

This set of antique Pennsylvania Dutch/German hand punched tin canisters likely date from the late 1800s - early 1900s. They are tin glazed with delicate punched folk art designs. They have gained a lovely patina over past 100+ years and there are also spots of oxidation. These canisters were sourced from an early 18th century farmstead in the hills of Missouri, the humidity here certainly explains the oxidation. The bodies of the containers are in good shape considering the thin, delicate nature of the metal that was used. I have only seen one other set of these - there is one smaller canister that this set is missing. That being said, this set is so rare, special and unique. Measurements: Approximate with lid and handle included. Large Canister - 9" Height x 5.75" Diameter Medium Canister - 7.5" Height x 4.75" Diameter Small Canister - 5.75" Height x 4" Diameter Condition: Good condition with patina commensurate with age. Oxidation has a occurred in some areas, there is some minor areas where the metal has been misshapen. Please see the pictures for details - I'm happy to provide more details on this special set - feel free to reach out!
