1870s tile emblazoned with Sir Edwin Landseer (1802-73) "The Rescue" of a sheep being rescued by a dog in a snow storm. Landseer's painting was originally called "Highland Shepherd’s Dog in the Snow" but was known as "The Rescue" by the end of the 19th century. Unmarked on the back, attributed to the industrial town of Stoke on Trent. Combined shipping available, please inquire.
