Add a rare matching set of exceptional American hardware to your favorite door with these ornamental bronze door knobs with rosettes designed and patented by Joseph A. Ruff in 1870. They were manufactured by The Metallic Compression Casting Company in Boston, MA and later by Russell & Erwin Manufacturing of New Britain, CT. Both distinguished companies producing some of the finest and most beautiful pieces of home hardware at the end of the 19th century. The knobs and rosettes are in excellent antique condition with normal wear from age and use and retain a beautiful and intact old patina. One knob is marked with the patent date of June 7th, 1870 as shown in the photo and can be adjusted to fit doors from 1.5" to 2.5" thick in increments of .25". The other knob was permanently fixed to the spindle for security purposes.
